Dr. Song is highly skilled in performing cataract surgery, so you can rest assured that your eyes will be in good care. Below are a set of procedures and lenses that our office offers to help you regain the confidence you need in your eyes!​ All of these lenses mentioned below work by bending light rays to better focus on your retina. MONOFOCAL

BASIC MONOFOCAL LENS: AcrySof IQ IOL
These lenses are designed to help reduce the need for glasses at far distances. However, you would need to wear glasses for near and intermediate distances.

MULTIFOCAL Lenses

AcrySof IQ ReSTOR
​
AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Intraocular Lenses and AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Toric IOLs are bifocal lenses that help patients who get cataract surgery to be able to see both intermediate (around 14 inches) and distance vision. Lenses with this technology are listed below:

AcrySof IQ ReSTOR IOLs: +3.0 D and +2.5 D with ACTIVEFOCUS Optical Design

This allows for you to see near and distance vision, for this lens option to correct your astigmatism we would perform a LRI procedure.
AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Toric IOLs: +3.0 D and +2.5 D with ACTIVEFOCUS Optical Design

This allows for you to correct your astigmatism without the need for an LRI procedure.

AcrySof IQ PanOptix
​
The first of its kind, AcrySof IQ PanOptix Trifocal IOLs enable a patient to be able to see at 3 different distances near, intermediate, and distance vision. These lenses include:

AcrySof IQ PanOptix Trifocal IOLs: +2.17 and +3.25

The latest in artificial intraocular lens, these lenses will allow for you to see a multitude of distances from up close to distance unlike the previous generation, ReSTOR IOLs, you will no longer need glasses or contacts.

To correct your astigmatism with these lenses you would need an LRI procedure.
AcrySof IQ PanOptix Toric Trifocal IOLs:

Similar to ReSTOR Toric IOLs they aid in the correction of astigmatism to give you sharper vision.

​
Compared to the previous multifocal options, the AcrySof IQ Vivity lens is Alcon's latest multifocal lens that was just approved by the FDA. The non-diffractive lenses seek to give an option to those patients who do not qualify for diffractive lenses such as the ReSTOR and PanOptix lenses mentioned above. The lenses that have these options are listed below, these lenses also include a UV protection.

Recently approved by the FDA the AcrySof IQ Vivity Extended Vision IOLs are offering clear distance and intermediate vision** and functional near vision**. With these lenses to correct astigmatism the doctor would need to conduct the LRI procedure.

Limbal Relaxing Incision (LRI)
​
By making a small incision on the corneal periphery to create a more even shape we can eliminate the astigmatism caused by your cornea. This would be done during the same time as your cataract surgery.
