Dilated Eye Exam
​
During this routine exam, we have one of our medical assistants put eye drops will widen your pupil. This allows our machines to obtain more accurate readings. Not only that, but it also allows our doctor to be able to see your retina much more clearly.

Tonometry
​
This is a routine exam in which we check your intraocular pressure. Tonometry helps the doctor diagnose the potential risk of glaucoma.
​
Gonioscopy
​
This routine exam is done at least once a year along with your dilation exam. The doctor uses a special lens which allows him to examine your internal drainage system of the eye known as the anterior chamber. The anterior chamber allows the eye to drain aqueous humor, which maintains eye health and keeps the eye inflated. Knowing the angle of the anterior chamber can assist the doctor in identifying your risk of glaucoma.

Color Plates
​
The Ishihara Color Vision Testing Plate Set helps the doctor determine if your eyes have any signs of color deficiency AKA color blindness.

Stereo Plates
​
This test (usually conducted on children) is done by placing a set of glasses on you, which assists the doctor examine how well you can discern objects at various distances.
​
Ocular Motility
​
This is a simple test performed by the doctor where we test how well the muscles are controlling your eye.
​
Indirect Ophthalmoscopy
​
This is a routine procedure, usually done with a dilation exam, where the doctor uses a special lens to look at various portions of the eye that cannot normally be seen without the eye being dilated.
